Herring Art Raffle

Artist Brian O’Connor has very generously donated this spectacular hand-crafted artwork titled “Alewives Ascend the Saugatucket” for Friends of the Saugatucket to raffle as a fundraiser.

The fish are carved in cedar and mounted on an inlayed background. The frame is a composite of Alaskan Yellow Cedar and Cypress. It is 17 x 38 inches and weighs 13 lbs.

The piece is on display at South County Bread Company, 333 Main St. Wakefield RI, which is open Wednesday through Sunday from 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Please stop in to admire this beautiful artwork, and maybe buy a tasty treat while you’re there!

Email us at friendsofthesaugatucket@gmail.com if you would like to purchase a raffle ticket (or a bunch of tickets!). Tickets are $10 each. The drawing is July 1 at noon.

Other dioramas created by Brian can be seen at South County Paddles on FaceBook.
